Summary: Instruction and skills development taught in accordance
with established policies, guidelines, and essential functions of
the Workforce Development EMS program. Essential Functions: ---
Deliver the approved courses of study as outlined in the syllabus,
maintaining a student-oriented approach to education.--- Prepare
and/or gather current instructional materials and equipment and use
available technological equipment and methods for delivery.---
Provide individual and group instruction.--- Evaluate student
learning and teaching effectiveness through written, oral,
practical and/or performance testing, ensuring that what is taught
is what is evaluated.--- Provide frequent feedback to students
regarding individual progress in each course.--- Supervise practice
and skills sessions for students in all assigned classroom and
laboratory activities.--- Maintain discipline in the classroom and
laboratory.--- Establish and maintain appropriate and adequate
office hours.--- Teach approved EMT and Advanced EMT curriculum.---
Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the
educational process.--- Maintain expertise, knowledge, and skills
in subject matter area.--- Create training materials on topics
assigned by the EMS Program Coordinator.--- Teach courses at a
variety of times and locations in response to institutional
needs.--- Convey by words and action the values expected by CWI.---
Be familiar with the Blackboard Learning Management System and
willing to utilize it as part of classroom assigned duties.---
Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: --- EMT
experience acquired by at least 1 to 5 years of full-time work
experience in EMS.--- Adult Instructional Methodology. Completion
of one (1) or more courses approved by the EMS Bureau based on
content that includes the following instructional methodologies:

(4-6-05)o Learning process; (4-6-05)o Lesson plans; (4-6-05)o
Course materials; (4-6-05)o Preparation; (4-6-05)IDAHO

Evaluations. (4-6-05) --- Completion of the EMS Bureau orientation
program for EMS instructors or equivalent; and (4-6-05)---
Licensure at or above the level of the curriculum being taught, for
three (3) to five (5) years. Licensed individuals and other health
care providers must also be licensed at the EMT level. (7-1-09)
(For EMT Lead Instructors)--- Previous experience teaching
preferred.--- Primary or lead instructors must be approved as EMT
Course Instructors, personally instruct at least seventy-five
percent (75%) of the didactic training of the course, and the
instructor oversees the skills training in the curriculum. (7-1-09)
