Guard, patrol, and monitor college property against fire, theft,
vandalism, and illegal entry. - Monitor events and activities for
the promotion of public safety objectives.
MANDATORY: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Must be at least
18 years of age. - Must pass extensive DPSST background check
(including fingerprinting). - Previous military, law enforcement or
security experience preferred.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATE: - Must complete employer-provided training and
pass the State of Oregon DPSST Security Professional certification
(120-day timeline to process).
Conduct periodic patrols of campus buildings and grounds. - Examine
doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. -
Inspect equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has
occurred. - Watch for and report irregularities such as fire
hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. -
Unlock doors for scheduled weekend classes.
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or
carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel person(s)
engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
Sound alarm or call police or fire department by telephone in case
of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and
malfunctioning of machinery or equipment for use by supervisory
Permit authorized persons to enter property. - Lock and unlock
Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at college events to
maintain orderly flow.
Assist police department with campus investigations and
Observe terminated employee as they depart work environment to
guard against theft of company property, as requested.
Complete the necessary recordkeeping as required by the Executive
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time (up to 29 hours per week), Classified,
non-exempt position. - Rate of pay is $12.90 per hour.
Pro-rated benefits include 4 hours per month of Sick Leave, 3.34
hours per month of Vacation, and Oregon retirement plan when
