Volunteer Coordinator's are an integral part of the Interdisciplinary Team by recruiting, retaining, and promoting Heart 'n Home Volunteer Services, both internally and externally. They promote the hospice philosophy by educating the community and participating in outreach efforts. Volunteer Coordinators are responsible for filling Volunteer needs in their respective office. Volunteer Coordinators will report directly to the Executive Director.Determine and provide ongoing Volunteer training needs.Ensure that Volunteer files are complete and up to date and documentation is submitted in a timely manner.Complete annual training and competencies with Volunteers.Oversee volunteer documentation to ensure compliance with Heart 'n Home audits and determine areas of needed support.Regularly recruit and train new Volunteers to adequately meet patient requests and volunteer needs.Maintain minimum of 5% Volunteer Medicare Match hours.Retain volunteers through use of recognition and quarterly rounding.Attend all assigned meetings.Provides reports at IDT at a minimum of every 15 days and acts as a liaison between Volunteers.Promptly fills volunteer tasks, based on Volunteer availability.Annually attends 15 hours of in-service/continuing education and completes all HnH University courses on or before established due dates.Provide and coordinate community outreach for Heart 'n Home and Volunteer education through public speaking, fairs, information booths, etc.Support Executive Directors and office staff as needed with phones, etc.Responsible for reviewing and responding to emails, phone calls, and voicemails in a timely manner. Requirements Experience preferred in organization of volunteers and outreach.Presentation/education skills for large and small groups.Demonstrated skills in administrative functions.Excellent communication skills.Strong computer and technical skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, phones, etc.)Ability to solve problems and handle difficult situations in a professional manner.Highly self motivated to work independently.Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and organizational requirements.Pass background check.Benefits: We offer excellent benefits with the idea of creating truly happy employees.
