Surgical Tech Location: Ontario, OR Agency: SnapCare Pay: $1,978 per week Shift Information: Rotating Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Title: Surgical Tech Location: Ontario, OR Job Details: Pay Rate = $23/hr $1150 stipend Shift Type = Day Shift Hours = 36 hrs Assignment Length = 13 Weeks Description of job: SnapCare is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist (Surg Tech) to join a dynamic perioperative team in Ontario, OR. The Surg Tech will support surgeons and operating room staff by preparing surgical suites, ensuring sterile technique, managing surgical instruments, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. This position is key to maintaining efficient workflow, ensuring patient safety, and delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced surgical environment. Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential preferred (NBSTSA) Minimum 1 year of recent operating room experience in a hospital or surgical center Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and OR protocols Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and respond quickly during routine and emergent procedures Excellent communication, attention to detail, and teamwork skills BLS certification required Responsibilities: Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly sterilized and set up for each procedure Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, retracting tissue, and maintaining the sterile field Monitor and enforce sterile technique, reporting any breaks or contamination risks immediately Anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout each stage of the operation Handle and label surgical specimens appropriately for pathology Operate and troubleshoot equipment such as electrocautery units, suction devices, and powered surgical instruments Perform surgical counts (instruments, sponges, sharps) with the circulating nurse to maintain patient safety Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent surgical procedures Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other perioperative personnel to ensure optimal surgical outcomes SnapCare Benefits: End of Shift Payments Medical, dental, vision, life, disability Guaranteed Hours Why work for SnapCare: Get end-of-shift pay through our Paymint app. Enjoy comprehensive benefits that cover medical, dental, vision care and more.
