- Minimum 1 year of recent L&D RN experience required
- 3 years preferred, including experience with:
- Labor and Delivery
- Postpartum Couplet Care
- Circulating C-Sections
- Triage
- Magnesium Protocol
- Newborn care in the first hour after delivery
- First-time travelers welcome!
- Must be confident titrating Pitocin, Magnesium, and Insulin
drips
- Charge RN experience a plus -Required CertificationsACLS, BLS,
NRP, StableShift Notes7p-7a weekends as needed, Float to all St.
Lukes Treasure Valley Sites-Meridian, Nampa, Boise in primary skill
set (L&D, Postpartum, or Antepartum) or as a sitter. -Job

potential for extension)Job Description:Join the dynamic and
supportive LDRP team at St. Luke's Health System. We are seeking
experienced Labor & Delivery RNs for our LDRP model where patients
remain in the same room for Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and
Postpartum care. You will also be involved in triage, circulating
C-sections, and immediate newborn care.This is a unique opportunity
for dedicated and adaptable nurses to work in a diverse community
setting with high standards of care and strong interdisciplinary
support.Unit Details:
- LDRP Beds: 14
- C-Section OR Suites: 2 (RNs will circulate and recover)
- Triage Beds: 4 (Traveler-staffed)
- Average Births: -90/month (1200/year)
- EFM System: Centricity
- Hospital-Issued Scrubs Required
- NICU Integrated into 7 of 14 LDRP RoomsStaffing & Ratios:
- Labor: 1:1 (unless pairing 2 cervical ripening patients)
- Postpartum: 1:3 couplets
- Triage: 1:3, may flex to 1:4 with Resource RN support
- Charge RNs and Resource RNs are available every shift
(non-assigned)
- Surgical Tech and CNA support (CNA coverage may vary)
-Certifications Required (must be active at submission):
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS
- NRP
- STABLEShifts & Scheduling:
- 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p or 7p-7a
- No block scheduling guaranteed (first schedule will fill
existing gaps)
- No on-call required
- Weekend/Holiday: Based on unit needs
- Floating: Required to float to L&D, Postpartum, Antepartum,
or as sitter at nearby St. Luke's sites (Boise, Meridian,
Nampa)
- Travel duos must have separate vehiclesOrientation:
- 4 unit-specific shifts covering C-Section, labor, and
postpartum
- EPIC (Curio) and compliance modules to be completed before
startOther Notes:
- No acrylic or gel nails allowed
- No placenta previa or accreta cases accepted
- OB Hospitalist, Anesthesia, and Neonatal NP onsite 24/7
- RT support available
- No Tele Techs - rarely needed
- Nurses must be able to read their own strips
- High traveler satisfaction - travelers often return or extend
