Three years of RN experience, with at least two years in surgical
services, is preferred. The Surgical Services Coordinator works
with the OR Manager to coordinate the sub-specialty areas in
Surgical Services including the Main Operating Room, PACU, Pre-Op,
Day Surgery and Endoscopy.
- Coordinates services to obtain the established goals for the
Main Operating Room.
- Revenue Management
- Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies
provided to the patients.
- Will work collaboratively with Manager on operations, quality
of care, program evaluation and development and medical staff
relations.
- Participates in activities related to budgeting, planning,
program development, facilities, materials management, safety and
quality.
- Develops policies and procedures and ensures they are reviewed,
revised and implemented in appropriate time frames.
- Plans, assigns, and monitors the work of staff.
- Performs supervisory duties including hiring, competency
assessment, staff development, counseling and terminating
employees.
- Maintains working relationships with other medical center
departments and physicians.
- Responds to requests and complaints from patients and their
families.
- Serves on medical center committees.
- Attends meetings and represents Manager in his/her
absence.
- Serves in a staff role based on the unit specific staffing plan
and day to day requirements of the unit.General
Requirements:Education:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferredLicense/Certification:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Oregon
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from
either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at
hire, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALSAbout Saint
