House of Design LLC, a robotics system integrator in Nampa, Idaho, is looking for a senior operations executive with experience building and leading a diverse portfolio of robotics products with a growth mindset. This person will join a highly experienced executive leadership team that endeavors to build House of Design, a leading provider of robotic automation systems and software for the residential construction market, with a strong commitment to delivering superior, scalable, and efficient customer experiences.

Founded in 2012 and based in Nampa, Idaho, House of Design is a leading provider of automated solutions for the building components and residential offsite construction industries. The Company designs and engineers robotic systems that increase component manufacturers' production output and capacity while reducing the challenges of labor shortages. Proprietary software makes House of Design's system the only fully automated system that can produce complex variable trusses and wall panels without robot retraining or resetting.

Persistent labor scarcity in the construction industry is driving greater need for automated solutions, and House of Design's offerings help address labor shortage and worker safety challenges while providing an attractive ROI to the customer.

The Role:

The VP of Operations / COO is responsible for leading a team of Project Managers, Software & Mechanical Engineers, Procurement and Field service operators along with 3rd party partners and subcontractors to execute the product orders in our orders backlog. Success metrics include executing on time, at or below budget and with quality and high customer satisfaction. Specific focus will be on preparing for commercial hand-off through clear requirements flow-down; managing resource allocation to ensure all projects are properly resourced for success; overseeing multiple implementations focused on schedule, budget, risks and ultimately meeting customer expectations on outcomes; and the commissioning and handover of the product upon completion. The leader will need to build an organization and the appropriate operating mechanisms to manage multiple implementations simultaneously along with expanding capacity through new site build outs. He/She should develop strong organizational relationship across HoD, with Customers and with 3rd party partners to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead a team of project managers, procurement, engineering and field service professionals to deliver products for customers. Evaluate talent and capabilities of the team to make sure we are operating at peak performance, top-grading talent where required. Establish direction and priorities to facilitate success for our customers and for company. Highlight and mitigate any risks to ensure transparency to company leadership and customers.
Raise the talent and capability of the operational functions through adding and/or top-grading resources at both manager and individual contributor levels as well as rolling out training to build individual capability and reinforce a standard approach. Execute hiring of project managers, engineering and field service professionals as per the operating plan set up by the management team for 2022 and beyond. Hold team accountable for performance and coach/mentor the team on how to become better executers. Deal with performance issues quickly to maintain the required pace of growth.
Support the set up and continued evolution of the supply chain function including hiring the right leader and underlying organization, repeatable processes and tools to drive efficiency
Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials
Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution
Drive cost and lead time down of products in partnership with Product function without compromising on quality
Lead the execution of capacity expansion, immediately focusing on successfully opening two additional facilities in the plan and building a long term vision based on revenue growth projections
Keep a pulse on current (backlog) and forward looking (pipeline) demand for project execution and use that to evaluate resource gaps in terms of quantity and skills. Manage the resource pool to ensure implementations start on time while maintaining a high level of resource utilization. Create methods to on-board new hires and increase their time to effectiveness.

Bachelor's degree in applicable field
Minimum 5-10 years experience in similar automation businesses leading operations and building scale for a business or major business unit, with a preference in robotics.
Minimum 7 years proven leadership experience, including performance development, coaching, and mentoring to raise the bar on team performance in a rapidly growing and changing environment.
Prefer experience with lean manufacturing principles including Lean Six Sigma and Kanban.
Prefer experience implementing a new ERP system, and managing through the impacts to manufacturing operations.
Expert communication skills with executive presence
Excellent facilitation and teamwork skills
Ability to perform essential functions of the job
